In September 2024, Benbee Unique School marked a major milestone in its long history with the introduction of Junior Secondary education. This expansion, nearly four decades after the school first opened its doors in 1984, reflects the institution’s continuous growth and commitment to meeting the educational needs of families in Awka and beyond.
The secondary program began with Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) and Junior Secondary School Two (JSS2). By September 2025, the school will officially commence JSS3 classes, completing the junior secondary level. With this development, parents can now rely on Benbee Unique School not just for pre-school, nursery, and primary education, but also for the foundational years of secondary education.
According to the school’s management, this expansion is part of a broader vision to ensure that children remain within one trusted learning environment from their earliest years until adolescence. The secondary program emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership, while continuing to uphold the discipline and moral instruction that the school is known for.
This historic step solidifies Benbee Unique School’s role as a leader in private education in Awka, honoring the vision of its founder, the late Chief B.C. Morah, who established the school in 1984 with only 9 pupils and 3 staff members.
